The yearly reports of the federal education office, from Henry Barnard’s first report of 1867–68 to fiscal year 1968: school statistics for every state, reports on schooling abroad, and the Commissioner’s own account of the year. From 1916 the statistics appear in the Biennial Survey of Education, and later reports were printed inside the annual reports of the Department of the Interior, the Federal Security Agency and the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare; those volumes are listed here too, with Sheldon Jackson’s reports on reindeer in Alaska, which the Bureau issued. Some years were issued in two volumes; each volume has its own page.
