Fiftieth Anniversary Volume, 1857–1906

No meeting held · Volume 44A

Volume 44A. No meeting of the National Educational Association was held in 1906. The planned San Francisco meeting was abandoned, and the volume’s own calendar of meetings lists no session for 1906. In its place the association issued this Fiftieth Anniversary Volume, 1857–1906, which serves as the 1906 volume. It prints the papers of the February 1906 meeting of the Department of Superintendence, memorial addresses, anniversary papers on fifty years of American education, a history of the association with lists of its officers, and the Act of Congress incorporating the National Education Association. The scan runs 968 pages.
